So this weekend, thanks to a little website called "Club Free Time" I was able to catch "Voca People" in the front row.
It was amazing. This group of actors are so talented vocally, I was simply stunned. Rather than instruments, they used their voices to create all parts of a song. They covered everything from opera, to beat boxing, to Billy Jean, to Gaga, to Mr. Sandman, and many many more. The audience was engaged and involved in the performance. I laughed, I cheered, I even shed the slightest tear at some point. This is definitely a must see. Cheaper than a movie ticket, and though the drinks were weak, you can't complain about a $4 glass of sangria.
For dinner we visited "Viv" a Thai restaurant in Hell's Kitchen.
It was super trendy inside. I had the steamed Chicken and Shrimp dumplings, which had more meat in them than others I've tasted, so points on that, and then had the Panang Curry as an entree. It was good. Nothing crazy spectacular. The happy hour was mediocre. $5 for a glass of wine and $4 for a beer. I've seen better prices, but I guess this is pretty good for the city. I'd definitely come here again but honestly, I'm not running.
Tonight I'm going to see "Empire" which is supposed to be a sexy circus type show. Let you know how it goes!
